Drive 4 Charity Mission
Our mission is to use the resources we have as a 928 community to help those that may find themselves in need.
To accomplish our mission, we reach out to our friends, family, co-workers and extended communities in order to turn pocket change into something much more meaningful for the recipients.
We put aside our tools, polishes and tuning computers in order to drive for a cause.
Wheels 4 Meals 2020 Drive Event
The first So-Cal 928s Drive 4 Charity event honors the elders that made our world possible.
This event, titled Wheels 4 Meals, will benefit the Meals On Wheels – Orange County chapter non-profit organization that serves nearly one million meals to over 12,000 at-risk seniors annually.
The Meals on Wheels organization is both publicly and privately funded, and historically under-funded. 18% of their revenue is realized through donations and private grants, and 92% of every dollar taken in is spent directly on nourishing older adults through their various programs.
We all have elders that we are thinking about, more-so lately, perhaps they are family, friends or neighbors.
Now is the time to give back. We drive for them.
How to Participate
- Driving participants for the 2020 Wheels 4 Meals drive are asked to first Register Here.
- Then reach out to your friends, family, co-workers and extended communities in order to gather sponsorship for this drive-a-thon style event. Sponsors can pledge $0.01/mile, $0.25/mi, etc. Any amount is helpful. We anticipate driving 150-200 miles on the day of the event, depending on where you live. Don’t feel comfortable reaching out for sponsorship? That’s ok! Sponsor yourself and come drive with us!
- Come drive with us on Saturday June 6, 2020 starting at 8:00am and ending @12:30-1:00pm. 2020 Wheels 4 Meals Schedule and Route
This will be a fun event, but it must also be a Covid-responsible event, out of respect for Meals on Wheels and the folks they serve. All participants and passengers are asked to use a face covering and practice social distancing (6’ minimum) at all times while not in their vehicles. This is not optional, thank you in advance for understanding.
- After the event, reach out to you sponsors, let them know your total mileage for the event, and direct them to www.SoCal928s.com where they can donate directly to the Meals on Wheels – OC. When they donate, make sure they enter your name so you get credit for the donation. If you sponsor yourself, make a donation and make sure to enter your name as the driver to be eligible for the fundraising prizes. Prizes for the top three fundraisers! Sponsors have until July 4, 2020 to donate.
- Sponsors that provide their name and mailing address while making their donation will receive, from SoCal928s, an event sticker and an event keychain as a thank-you for their support. They will also receive a donation receipt from Meals on Wheels for tax purposes. Sponsors may also donate anonymously should they choose to do so. Billing information entered into the Meals on Wheels donation page will not be shared with SoCal-928s.
